My Life
After High School I attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. While in college I worked as a student trainer for the athletic department. Mainly worked Football, Women's Volleyball, Women's Basketball, and Baseball.
After College I moved back to Kimmswick and took a job with the Windsor School District as a substitute teacher and worked evenings at a Seven-Eleven store. Should have gotten better grades in college.
Eight months later got a job in Jefferson City, MO with the state. I did software development for State's payroll, budget, and accounting systems. Eventually went to work for the Lottery Commission as a software developer. In 1988 I went to work for GTE as a Senior Programmer Analyst and Supervisor.
In 1990 and 1992 my daughters were born. Jennifer and Anna.
Continued to live in Jefferson City until 1993. GTE transferred me to their corporate offices in Tampa, FL where I worked as a Senior Systems Engineer and worked on a Sales and Marketing Team. Lots of traveling and living out of a suit case.
In 1995 I left GTE for Unisys Corporation in Oklahoma City, OK as a System Manager. Only stayed there about 14 months when GTE offered me the System Manager position back in Jefferson City, MO. My wife and I built a home on her parent's farm in Taos, MO.
In July 2002, I accepted a Technical Manager position again with Unisys Corporation in their Reston, VA office outside of Washington DC. I lived in a hotel for 12 months until Unisys finally got me a corporate apartment in Washington DC. I lived in the corporate apartment for another year. During this time Julie and I separated and divorced. Julie and the kids are still living in Jefferson City.
In September of 2004, I went to work for Integris as a Program Manager building BI (Business Intelligence) systems for state and local governments. I rented an apartment in Washington DC. DC is very expensive to live when your not on an expense account.
Business was slow at Integris, so I took a job as a Systems Manager with ACS in Washington DC on a contract with the District of Columbia Government. This lasted for about a year when Integris (which is now OptumInsight, formally Ingenix) offered me a Program Manager position on their contract with the State of California. I had worked on the proposal to California the first time I worked for Integris.
I have been in Sacramento since March 2007. The system we installed is complete and we are in the Maintenance and Operations mode of the contract. We just signed a contract for three extension years, our contract now goes through February of 2014.
